Ex Welsh Premier player signs for Denbigh

Manager Dewi Llion is delighted after having managed to secure the signature of ex Bala Town legend Stuart Jones who has played over 250 times in the heart of their defence in the Welsh Premier League. He also played a number of European football matches and has a Welsh Cup winners medal.

34 yr old Stuart started his football journey with Everton Youth then Tranmere Youth, Chester, and Cammel Laird before that great 9 year spell at Bala. He left Bala this time last year and has since been on the books at Flint, Airbus and Vauxhall FC before signing for Town a couple of days ago.

He is a strong, classy defender who is able to score goals too.

When we spoke to Stuart at a recent training session he said " The set up here looks good and feels right and I think I will settle in well with these players. I know Dewi and I have seen what the club have been doing over the years getting better and better." Thinking of his old club he added " To be honest, in some ways, Denbigh Town reminds me of where Bala Town were years ago when they were building."

Dewi added " Having worked with Stu at Bala I've seen, first hand, the effect he has both on and off the pitch. He is a commanding centre half, strong in the air and competent with both feet. Very experienced at the top domestic level and in the Welsh Cup. Stu is a huge signing for us."

Welcome to Central Park,Stuart, and many thanks to Vauxhall FC and others involved for a quick International Clearance and smooth transfer.

Good luck to Denbigh Town with their pre-season friendly at Llandudno FC this morning and to Wales this afternoon of course.
