Denbigh Town v Flint Town United

Date: 19/04/2024
Kick-Off: 19:30
Location: Central Park
Competition: JD Cymru North

Form

Denbigh are battling it out for a place in the top five of the JD Cymru North and a win on Friday would go a long way towards achieving it. Town returned to winning ways in spectacular style on last time out with their joint-biggest-ever win in the second tier. Town travelled to Llanidloes where an Owen Davies hatrick, Paul Fleming brace and strikes from Nathan Brown and Billy Holmes saw Town romp home in a 7-0 win. It was Denbigh’s last away game of the campaign and what a way to mark it.

Flint come into this one knowing that their place in the JD Cymru Premier has been confirmed, but will be keen to cap it off with a league title victory. They’ll need to beat Denbigh and hope that Holywell drop points against both Porthmadog and Llanidloes. Last time out Flint faced a trip to Flintshire rivals Mold Alexandra, where a Josh Jones hatrick and Elliott Reeves strike saw the Silkmen run out 4-0 winners and go top of the division. It extended a run of eight games unbeaten for Lee Fowler’s side.

Head-to-Head

These two clubs have a lot of history over the last 140 years or so, facing off as far back as our founding year of 1880. Our last meeting came a little more recently, in a WBS League Cup tie at the Essity Stadium in November. Goals from Matthew Worrall, Ryan Kershaw, Josh Lock and Tom Weir saw us through in a 4-3 win. This will be the fourth match between the two sides this season, having met on the opening weekend of the season, the JD Welsh Cup and WBS League Cup.

Stat Pack

Billy Holmes could make his 100th league appearance for Denbigh Town on Friday night.

Nathan Brown could make his 75th appearance for the club in all competitions.
