Denbigh Town Ladies made it four wins on the spin this Sunday with a superb 3-1 success away to Northop Hall.

Goals from Jess Frith, Beth Kell and Ceri Purvis saw Town pick up maximum points to continue their superb run of form.

Ellen Lawson named three changes to the side that overcame Berriew 3-0 a week previous with Frith, Elen James Owen and Kell coming in for Megan Edwards, Elen Jones and Charlotte Morris.

Town got off to the perfect start taking the lead inside just three minutes when Purvis fed the ball through to Frith who galloped down the right and finished well to give Denbigh the lead via the post.

In a comfortable first-half for Town Lawson’s side sought a second and duly doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark, as Purvis once again turned provider when her shot was touched home on route to goal by Kell for a superb finish.

Northop continued to look for a way back into the game and they halved the deficit seconds before the break as Daisy Allen pulled one back via a free-kick moments before referee Keith Ottley blew for half-time.

With the score halved Northop looked for the all-important leveller but Denbigh’s defence remained firm throughout not allowing the home side any opportunity to draw level.

It took until the final embers of the fixture for the game to be truly decided as Purvis, already with two assists to her name got her name on the scoresheet in stoppage time to seal the points for Denbigh. Captain James-Owen threaded a ball through the middle to the experienced forward to calmly slotted the ball home past the 'keeper one-on-one.

The Ladies are next in action when they travel to Kinmel Bay in the league.
