Denbigh Town Ladies bagged three points on their return to league action with a comfortable victory over Berriew.
Goals from Megan Edwards, Lucy Morris and Lowri Claybrook sealed the victory in the sunshine at Central Park.
It took nine minutes for the first chance of note which Town took full advantage of as Edwards picked the ball up on the left before hitting a fierce effort past goalkeeper Catherine Bradley.
Minutes later Elen Jones struck the ball inches wide on the turn in the middle of the visitors’ box as Denbigh showed intent in the early stages.
Berriew replied two minutes later at Kate Price ran through before forcing Netty Young in to a save with a superb effort from distance just left of centre.
Ten minutes before half-time the lead was doubled when Edwards made inroads down the left flank, forcing the keeper into a save before Lucy Morris followed in to tap home from close range.
Half-Time: Denbigh Town Ladies 2-0 Berriew Ladies
The second half was a slow burner in terms of chances as whilst good football was played throughout neither goalkeeper could say they were truly tested.
Denbigh did have the most of possession but couldn’t carve anything out until the final quarter. With 75 minutes gone Edwards again popped up to have a go from range which whizzed past the face of goal before nestling wide.
As stoppage time ticked over Town found their third as Claybrook picked it up outside the box before smashing home into the bottom left corner to leave no doubt.
The Ladies are next in action next Sunday away to Northop Hall.
