The early exchanges saw both sides having chances and Caernarfon were awarded a penalty in the 22nd minute for a goalmouth challenge on Caernarfon’s striker. Denbigh keeper John Hodgin made a fine save, but in the follow up play Jamie Roberts headed the Cofis into a 1-0 lead
Four minutes later it was 2-0 after a Kevin Lloyd finish.
The Town responded when Kieran Gaul put Andrew Swarbrick through for his first goal for Denbigh since his return to the club and the teams went into half time at 2-1 for Caernarfon.
During the early stages of the second half manager Eddie Maurice- Jones introduced two of Denbigh’s promising youngsters into the game with David Lawson-Cooke and Andy Thomas coming on for Phil Molyneux and Andrew Swarbrick. Thomas had an excellent chance to equalise only for his header missing the target from close range.
The game was now even with both teams creating chances before Caernarfon’s Darren Thomas shot from within the penalty area to beat keeper Hodgin to give Caernarfon a 3-1 lead
With almost the last kick of the game young Aaron Davies Thomas made it 4-1.
A somewhat flattering result for Caernarfon, Denbigh can take heart from a good performance and return to league games on Saturday 7th January when Guilsfield are the visitors to Central Park with a 2.30pm kick off
