Denbigh Town saw out their first season back in the JD Cymru North with an agonising 2-2 draw against Bangor 1876.
Goals from Josh Lock and Owen Davies in the first half saw Town lead before Liam Morris pulled one back with seven minutes to spare, whilst Morris then bundled the ball home in the ninth minute of the six added in stoppage time.
The league campaign now ends with Town finishing 6th, their third-highest finish in club history.
Dewi Llion named an unchanged XI but did welcome Harry Lockley to the bench for the first time in six months following a kidney transplant.
Denbigh had the best of the early goings showing real intent just four minutes in when Sion Jones made tracks down the right before pulling it back to Fleming, but he couldn’t steer his effort on target.
Chances continued to flow for Town as Nathan Brown was denied from range before Lock forced the stopper into a save low to his left.
With 24 minutes gone, the deadlock was broken and what a strike it was. Some nice play from Town on the left saw Fleming play the ball to Lock, he unleashed an effort from 25 yards into the top corner for what could be the goal of the season, but only for about 20 minutes.
Davies looked to double the advantage when he was played through by Brown but a last minute challenge saw it ricochet out for a corner, before Denbigh had a penalty shout ten minutes later, Lock brought down in the box among a sea of bodies but denied.
As both sides were about to head in for the break the sure fire goal of the season was left until Denbigh’s last, Owen Davies picked up a clearance in his own half, drove forward and spotted the keeper of his line and struck from his own half, finding the net to double the lead.
Half-Time: Denbigh Town 2-0 Bangor 1876
Within a minute Town almost made it three when Lock saw sight of goal from distance and curled an effort just wide of the far post.
Bangor had a chance themselves two minutes later as Morris advanced on the left of the box before pulling the ball across goal, and forward Corrig McGonigle was unable to get a foot to it.
McGonigle had another chance moments later when he on the right of the box struck but Aaron Jones was up to the task.
With seven minutes to play Morris finally netted for Bangor with a low shot from an angle as the visitors put pressure on Denbigh. He almost equalised from a similar position three minutes later but his shot was pulled wide.
Six minutes were indicated in stoppage time and as time dragged on Sion Jones was given a second yellow card for a foul in midfield. Referee Aled Rhys Williams appeared oblivious as the match continued to to roll on until Bangor found a leveller, a long ball into the box scrambled home by Morris with 99 minutes played.
Now, Denbigh can regroup and plan for the summer and a second season back in the second tier following a superb campaign.
