With a wet surface credit the game went ahead and Denbigh put on a superb performance to win 6 0 against a side who have shown good form of late.
Denbigh handed home debuts to recent signings Alan Bull, Liam Smith and Sal Kisitu whilst Paul Hart was rested as Dan Lloyd returned to the starting 11.
In an open first quarter of the game Denbigh thought they had won a penalty when Alan Bull was fouled but the ref played on. Rhayader then attacked and had a great chance when Sean Powell went clean through but he fired wide. Next up and Dan Lloyd saw his shot hit the bar before Warren Duckett saw his goal bound header cleared off the line.
The opening goal arrived on 33 minutes when Duckett was pushed in the area and a penalty was awarded. Up stepped Kristen Pierce to fire home. On 35 minutes Dan Lloyd made a great run into the box and was fouled in the clearest decision of the game but yet again the referee waved play on to the amazement of both sets of players.
The 2nd half started and Denbigh flew out the traps playing some superb football in difficult conditions. On 51 minutes Alan Bull picked the ball up and ran at the defence before a crude challenge saw a 2nd penalty. Up stepped KP to fire the ball home, on 53 minutes Denbigh scored their 3rd and possible best goal of the season to date when some superb build up play saw the ball fall for Dave McIntyre who fired in a superb strike from 30 yards.
The home side where in complete control and looked dangerous going forward at every opportunity. The 4th goal arrived on 69 minutes when Alan Bull scored his 1st for the club and one his performance deserved. On 89 minutes Liam Smith scored before right at the death Denbigh where awarded another penalty when a Rhayader defender handballed. Kristian Pierce stepped up and smashed the ball home to complete his hat-trick and hand Denbigh their biggest win of the season. A superb performance on a heavy pitch with some great football played at times.
