Guilsfield 1 - 3 Denbigh Town

Manager Gareth Thomas was forced into several changes with Captain Warren Duckett, Matty Hughes, Paul Hart and Dan Lloyd all injured and missing the game. Into the starting 11 came youngsters Sam Tate and Sam Lewis with Phil Molyneux making a full debut.

Guilsfield started bright but both Mike Sharples and Liam Smith looked composed at the back dealing with everything that came their way. At the other end Alan Bull had a couple of half chances whilst a Molyneux glancing header went close. The opening goal came on 32 minutes when Alan Bull crossed for Ant Williams to head home and the score line stayed that way until half time.

Early in the 2nd half and another injury for Town when leading scorer Kristian Pierce was taken off to be replaced by Sam Jones. Town where starting to move the ball well and look to counter attack with Sam Tate at the heart of everything On 60 minutes Tate was brought down on the edge of the area and Bull stepped up to score direct from the free kick. On 70 minutes another chance went begging as Molyneux fired over before Bull went through and with the keeper to beat he lost control and Littleford in the goal gathered the ball. On 75 minutes Thomas used 2 more subs with Cronshaw coming on for Molyneux and Sean James replaced man of the match Sam Tate. On 80 minutes the game was made safe when a superb counter attack saw Bull released and he ran the ball towards goal before rounding the keeper and slotting home. Deep into the 5th minute of stoppage time Guilsfield scored from a corner with Aaron Pritchard side footing home.

An excellent performance and to finish the game with 5 lads under 20 can only help in the future.
