Denbigh Town are at home again this Saturday as welcome Flint Town United for a 2.30pm kick off.
Flint had a very good start beating Holyhead Hotspurs at home and we are sure young manager Niall McGuinness will be delighted to see that his side know where the net is scoring five goals in the process. They were a little disappointed with how things went last season but finished on a strong unbeaten run and of course won the Huws Gray League Cup. They are hopeful that their many new signings will hit form and are looking to be up there contending for the title as things progress.
Matty Jones and Niall worked together at Rhyl until quite recently and although they remain friends Matty and Dewi are expecting no favours. Things are more difficult for the Reds with three players unavailable due to suspensions and players out with injuries but we are still looking forward to a good game. Bailey Jackson, Mark Roberts, Scott McHarrie, Joel Hewitt and Ross Weaver will miss this encounter.
When asked for his thoughts Matty Jones replied " Obviously we are disappointed with the result and performance in our opening game last Friday but we are not defined by one game. It is our job now as a group of players and staff to learn from the game and build on what we have been doing over the last seven or eight weeks. It is vital that we bounce back in what is going to a very tough game against Flint who will be expecting to be near the top of the league. We will obviously have a few missing but hope to welcome Stu Vernon, Sam Cartwright and Rhys Llwyd into the squad for the game."
