REPORT | Denbigh Town Reserves 2-1 Airbus UK Broughton Reserves

Denbigh Town Reserves leapfrogged Airbus on Saturday to move to third in the FAW Reserve League North, as Andy Thomas and Geth Rogers netted in a 2-1 success.

Liam Nash lost Rhys Lloyd on the weekend as the youngster was called up to first team duty but was supplement with Morgan Thomas-Sadler who continues his recover from injury, picked up last August at Bangor.

Town took just five minutes to get in front when Thomas struck and the forward could have made his two after just 20 minutes, but was unsuccessful from the penalty spot.

Between the opener and the penalty Airbus leveled via Robbie Jones in what was an explosive opening to the match.

Within the opening 15 minutes Town were back in front as Rogers secured his second goal of the campaign at a crucial moment. When these two sides met at the Airfield last time, things were certainly tense on the pitch and it would prove to be as passionate in the return.

Josh Jones, returning for the starting XI for the first time since September picked up a booking before being shown a second yellow card just four minutes later to leave things difficult for Town to hold on. Airbus persisted and ended the game facing just nine opponents when Matthew Blake was shown a straight red card for a poor challenge in the final minute.

Despite this, Denbigh held on for a huge three points as Nash's side look to force themselves into a potential title challenge.
