Coaches from across the age groups enrol on FAW C Certificate

Denbigh Town Junior coaches will be taking their coaching education to the next level after enrolling on the 'C Certificate' course - awarded by the Football Association of Wales.

Geraint Lloyd, Mark Jones, Aled Roberts Rich Jones, Gav Roberts, Dai Kelly and Bryan Marshall will continue on their coaching pathway in February thanks to the FAW Trust and Sports Wales 'Be Active Wales' Funding.

Denbigh Town Junior Chairman, Geraint Lloyd said, "This is a fantastic opportunity for coaches across our age groups. Better coaches means better players and better experiences, and that's why we do it, to give local children positive experiences as they grow and develop into young adults."

"I am really pleased to see so many of our coaches taking the opportunity of a 100% funded course thanks to FAW Trust and Sports Wales during what is a challenging time financially. We have coaches from under 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s signed up, so we are in a really good position."

Denbigh Town first team manager Dewi Llion said "This is a really positive step for Denbigh Town Football Club. Having so many committed coaches developing our young players is only of benefit to the first team for years to come."

"The Juniors start at as young as Under 6 level. The aim is to bring them through the age groups with these coaches and then into the first team squad - that's the goal. I wish them the best of luck with the C Certificate."

The FAW C Certificate has been designed for coaches who have completed the FAW Football Leaders Award and want to further improve their coaching knowledge and skills when supporting players within a practice.

The course consists of a series of online modules and distance learning as-well as devising and delivering a series of practical sessions, both on-course and within their own coaching environment.

During the course, our coaches with learn about the key requirements of supporting an individual within modern football, developing players across the FAW's four pillars (Technical, Physical, Psychological and Social) and develop their ability to plan, prepare and reflect on sessions.
