Manager happy with pre season preparations to date

The First Team at Denbigh Town is beginning to take shape nicely and some wondered what was happening with the Reserve Team.

We spoke to Reserve Team manager Kevin Roberts - "I can confirm the reserve management have all agreed to stay on so it is great news that coaches Johnny Roberts and Gareth Hughes will remain with the reserves as they were so important to our success last year. I'm delighted that I have managed to retain all of last year's squad. Keeping Liam Roberts, Sam Tate, Gwion Bibby, Gruff Jones and Rob Lawson is a big statement as all have been approached by other clubs. I really hope that they push for a first team place.

It was key to get the good young players from the Development Squad signed on too. I feel the lads I have signed this week, players such as Robbie Blythin, Ross Slater and Morgan Hughes are ready to step up to the Reserves.

I have already strengthened the squad ready for the challenges of a demanding reserve league with the likes of Colwyn Bay and Conwy now joining.Goalkeeper Gethin Williams has signed from Corwen, Rhys Cooper has signed from Saltney Town and Sion Jones has joined from Rhyl Youth. Stu Vernon has returned to sign and will be a big influence on our squad.

Having such a strong finish last season has put us in a good position to attract good young players to the club. We've got an exiting pre season schedule so I can't wait to work with this great group of players."

Details of all our pre season friendlies both for the First Team and the Reserves will be published soon
