The spiciest tie of the round !

Tomorrow evening Friday 14th Sept Denbigh Town play Rhyl at Belle Vue with a 7.45pm kick off.

This is the first time the two clubs have met since the mass migration of staff and players mid season from Denbigh to Rhyl. Manager Eddie Maurice Jones, two coaches and eleven Denbigh players initially signed for Rhyl although one or two have since moved again. There are no hard feelings and it will good to see the lads again but we hope they don't play as well as they did last season !

To add that extra spice ex Rhyl manager Matty Jones has moved down the vale to form one half of the management duo with Dewi Llion. Players Tony Davies and Sam Downey played for Rhyl last season but are now working hard to get things going at Denbigh.

Rhyl, quite rightly, were proud of their win at Porthmadog recently but were disappointed to lose at home against Gresford just a week later. They will want to put that right.

Denbigh have taken time to gel properly and have not done as well as they might. However at times, such as against Penrhyncoch last week, the performances have been good. They just need that rub of the green, that slice of luck to get things going. But that is what the Cup is for - isn't it ?

With most cup matches being played on the Saturday there is every chance of a decent crowd for this one.

C'mon Denbigh !
