The Player of the Month Award for September is here for Town after a busy month for Dewi Llion’s side.

The quartet nominated are Matthew Worrall, Max Cooke, Ben Lockley and Gwion Dafydd, all of whom had an excellent run.

Matthew Worrall

Forward Matthew Worrall showed exactly why he was brought back in the summer with a terrific September. Worrall’s 55-minute masterstroke against Porthmadog was wiped from the record books, where he scored two and assisted two before the game was abandoned. He also netted against Flint Mountain and provided an assist away at Newtown.

Max Cooke

Last month’s Player of the Month for August is back in with a shout again as Max Cooke continued with a superb month. The defender has been deployed both at the back and in the middle of the park, putting in a man-of-the-match performance against Llandudno in the Nathaniel MG Cup. Cooke has thrown himself in the mix for a starting spot each week.

Ben Lockley

Denbigh’s Mr Reliable played every minute in September picking up two man of the match awards in the process. A rock at the back, Lockley has continued to show why he’s one of the division’s best players putting in outstanding performances against Buckley and Newtown.

Gwion Dafydd

New signing Gwion Dafydd got himself up and running early in a Denbigh Town shirt, netting his first goal for the club in just his second appearance. Dafydd grabbed a goal and assist that night at Central Park, before scoring in both trips to Porthmadog. He also turned provider away at Newtown in a positive month for the young striker.
