- Town travel to Deeside

Denbigh Town are back in action this weekend with a third away trip of the campaign to Buckley and fourth game overall with the Bucks, but this time in different surroundings.

Town head to Deeside Stadium this Saturday, Buckley’s temporary home, as Dewi Llion’s side look to make it three league wins on the bounce.

Buckley Town v Denbigh Town
Date: 10/02/2024
Kick-Off: 14:00
Location: Deeside Stadium, Connah’s Quay
Competition: JD Cymru North

Form

Denbigh were disappointed not to be in action on Tuesday night as Central Park fell victim to a waterlogged pitch. A quick turnaround would have been ideal for Town following last Friday’s superb victory over Porthmadog. Josh Lock, Paul Fleming and Nathan Brown netted in a 3-1 win which Denbigh controlled throughout. It secured back-to-back wins which began with a 4-1 success over Llandudno.

Buckley’s form has taken a real turn in recent weeks. After eight games without a win in the JD Cymru North, the Bucks have now won three won the bounce including last time out in a Flintshire Derby away at Mold Alexandra. Liam Driscoll and substitute Max Moore scored to secure a massive win. At one point looking certain to be scrapping against relegation, the Bucks are now seven points clear of the drop zone and a point adrift of the top eight.

Head-to-Head

Our last match with Buckley will live long in the memory. A record-breaking match that saw 11 goals in a 6-5 win for Denbigh at Central Park, it was the highest-scoring game in JD Cymru North history. It was the third of an early season trilogy between the two sides with the other two games taking place at the Globe.

The first in the Nathaniel MG Cup which Buckley triumphed 3-0 before the WBS League Cup, where Denbigh ran rampant in a 6-2 win. Let’s be honest, anything could happen tomorrow.

This will be Denbigh’s first trip to Deeside Stadium since October 2016, losing out to Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Nathaniel MG Cup.

Stat Pack

Town are looking to the league double over a side in the second tier for the first time since April 2018.

Goalkeeper Aaron Jones could make his 75th appearance for the club in all competitions.

Billy Holmes could make his 90th league appearance for the club on Tuesday.

Town are looking to win three league matches on the spin for the first time since mid-November.

Owen Davies and Kyle Cooper could make their full debuts having appeared off the bench already since signing.

Jimmy McHarrie and Max Cooke (pending international clearance) could make their debuts.
