PREVIEW | Denbigh Town v Flint Mountain

- Back to business on Tuesday

Denbigh Town return to league action on Tuesday night following an action packed weekend as Flint Mountain arrive in LL16.

The game, originally set to be played on New Year’s Day, will be key for both sides as we head into the final stretch of the campaign.

Denbigh Town v Flint Mountain
Date: 18/02/2025
Kick-Off: 19:45
Location: Central Park
Competition: JD Cymru North

Form

Denbigh come into the game on the back of a sickening last-minute goal in the JD Welsh Cup Quarter-Final. Despite finding the woodwork three times in the first half, Town were unable to breakthrough before Llanelli struck in the final seconds to advance to the Semi-Final. Our last league game came a week beforehand away at Llandudno where Denbigh surrendered a two goal lead via Nathan Brown’s double in a 2-2 draw.

Flint Mountain’s excellent start to the campaign after promotion last term has faltered a little in the last few games, as they sit without a win in their last three games. Aden Shannon’s side have drawn 1-1 in both of their last two matches against Ruthin Town and Guilsfield, having lost 5-1 at home to Colwyn Bay beforehand. Their last win was a 7-0 success over Gresford Athletic in mid-January.

Head-to-Head

This will be just the fifth match between the two sides and the second season in the same division. We met earlier this season where despite Keelan Williams’ free-kick Denbigh went 4-1 down before goals from Nathan Brown and Owen Davies fought back to finish 4-4 late on.

Our first meeting came in September 2019 in the FAW Amateur Trophy with Mountain running out 1-0 winners. Our first league meeting came in August 2022 at Central Park with goals from Paul Fleming and Owen Cordiner. In December Denbigh lost 3-1 in Flint to see out 2022.

Stat Pack

Nathan Brown needs just two goals for his 50th league goal for Denbigh Town.

Sam Duffy could make his 25th appearance for the club.

Denbigh are looking to go four games unbeaten in the league for just the second time this season.
