Form
Town come into this one on the back of a disappointing 2-1 loss away to Porthmadog last weekend. Shaun Cavanagh’s double was split between Matthew Worrall’s strike as Port picked up three points and ended our unbeaten five-match run. A week previous saw our most recent home match as the highest scoring JD Cymru North match ended 6-5 in Town’s favour against Buckley with goals from Worrall (brace), Nathan Brown (brace), Ryan Kershaw and Craig Pritchard.
Llanidloes recorded their first back-to-back wins of the season this week with success in the league and cup. They last played on Tuesday in the Central Wales FA Cup at home to CWFL North (tier four) side Forden United, winning 2-1 with goals from Drew Reynolds and George Clarke. Their last league game came against Llandudno where Jamie Breese’s stoppage-time winner downed Dudno 3-2 in a crucial potential six-pointer at the bottom of the table.
Head-to-Head
Town and Llanidloes have met on eight occasions in the league all coming in the second tier dating back to 1996.
Our last meeting came in December 2014 when nine-man Llanidloes sent Denbigh home packing in a 5-2 thumping, with Warren Duckett and Simon Smith on the scoresheet for Town.
Our last home match came earlier that year in August where Mark Roberts (brace) and Andrew Stockton led a comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Central Park.
Stat Pack
Sion Jones could make his 125th appearance for the club in all competitions this weekend.
Matthew Worrall could make his 30th league appearance for the club. He’s scored 26 goals so far in the league during his two spells at Denbigh.
