Denbigh Town return to JD Cymru North action on Friday night with a journey to Flint Mountain.

A new Cymru North opponent at a familiar ground Denbigh will be desperate to grab their first away win of the campaign.

Denbigh had a real lift with back-to-back wins at Central Park two weeks ago but were unable to follow that up with two defeats on the spin. Last time out Town faced Gresford Athletic in the WBS League Cup going 3-0 down ahead of the break and were never able to pull it back. The last Cymru North match saw Dewi Llion’s side travel to Penrhyncoch which, again, with Denbigh down by three at half-time, they left with nothing despite a brace from Nathan Brown. That one ended 4-2.

Flint Mountain are competing in the second tier for the first time in their 15-year history. They won their first game at this level on the opening day, a 7-0 thumping of Ruthin and have three wins this season coming against Llandudno and Gresford Athletic. Last time out they exited the WBS League Cup on penalties at home to Colwyn Bay.

Head-to-Head

This will be just the fourth match between the two sides and the second season in the same division. Our first meeting came in September 2019 in the FAW Amateur Trophy with Mountain running out 1-0 winners. Our first league meeting came in August 2022 at Central Park with goals from Paul Fleming and Owen Cordiner. In December Denbigh lost 3-1 in Flint to see out 2022.
