Dewi Llion’s side head to Prestatyn though not to face the landlords, but their temporary tenants for the coming season in Flint Mountain in the Nathaniel MG Cup.
Flint Mountain v Denbigh Town
Date: 18/07/2025
Kick-Off: 19:30
Location: Bastion Gardens
Competition: Nathaniel MG Cup
Form
Town come into the game on the back of five pre-season tests against varying competition. We began with a 1-1 draw at Llannefydd before earning a victory over Llay Welfare and a draw against TNS XI. We met JD Cymru Premier opposition in Connah’s Quay Nomads losing out at the Essity Stadium before beating their U21’s four days later 3-2.
Mountain began their summer campaign with a trip to Ellsmere Port before registering a 3-1 win over Cefn Albion and finishing a trio of games against Chirk AAA last Friday.
Head to Head
We last met back in February at Central Park where the two Jack’s, Parry and Sconce handed Flint a 2-0 win in the JD Cymru North. Our last away trip against the Mountain came in September 2024 in one of the games of the season. After going two down early, Keelan Williams hammered home a free kick before the hosts extended their lead before the break. Flint added a fourth just after the break but a goal from Owen Davies and penalty from Nathan Brown made it tight. Finally with moments to go another Denbigh penalty was dispatched by Davies to share the points in a 4-4 draw.
Town’s last away win over Friday’s opponents came in September 2019 where Jake Walker’s brace earned a 2-1 win in the FAW Amateur Trophy.
Stat Pack
Sion Jones will begin his seventh season (one missed through COVID in 2020/21) and remains the club’s longest-serving player, having signed in 2017.
Nathan Brown needs one more goal to tie for fifth in the all-time recorded goal scorers for Denbigh Town.
