After 29 games in the JD Cymru North coupled with six cup contests this term, the final day of the season has finally arrived.
Town head to Broughton, the home of Airbus, to take on Gresford at their temporary home as we look to establish back-to-back top-half finishes.
Gresford Athletic v Denbigh Town
Date: 12/04/2025
Kick-Off: 14:30
Location: Hollingsworth Group Stadium
Competition: JD Cymru North
Form
Town come into the final day with just one loss in their last seven games, with that sole defeat coming to potential champions Colwyn Bay. Last time out Dewi Llion’s side took on Llay at Central Park where braces for Alfie Vaughan and Nathan Brown alongside a strike from Owen Davies secured a 5-0 success. Denbigh’s last away win came at the beginning of March in a 5-0 thumping of Buckley.
Gresford have won two of their last five games and last weekend picked up an impressive point in a goalless draw against Holywell. It followed up a 3-1 win over Caersws a week previous. It was a good response to losses to Llandudno and Guilsfield.
Head-to-Head
Denbigh and Gresford have already met twice this season with a win apiece. At Central Park in August Town made it back to back victories with a 5-1 hammering of the Colliers. Nathan Brown netted a hatrick to open his account for the season whilst Owen Davies and Paul Fleming rounded things off. Eight days later we met at the Rock in the WBS League Cup with Gresford running out comfortable 3-0 winners.
Stat Pack
Manager Dewi Llion will become just the second Denbigh Town manager to complete six seasons in charge of the club. He took over in 2018 and has six seasons under his belt - not including 2020/21 - and is the longest-serving (in years) manager in the club's history. He requires 12 more matches to have been in charge of the most games.
Bill Dawson: 225
Dewi Llion: 214
Keiron Roberts could make his 120th Denbigh Town appearance this weekend.
Keelan Williams could make his 25th appearance for the club.
Denbigh are looking to finish in the top half of the second tier in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2016.
