Holyhead Hotspur v Denbigh Town
Date: 01/11/2025
Kick-Off: 14:00
Location: The New Oval
Competition: JD Cymru North

Form

Denbigh come into this one on the back of a dramatic 2-2 Vale of Clwyd Derby draw against Ruthin Town last Friday. Town found themselves 2-0 down and second best for the majority, but Gwion Dafydd’s strike on 73 minutes came before Nathan Brown found the equaliser on 94 minutes to take a point.

Our last trip on the road saw us head to Guilsfield where despite Scott McHarrie’s opener, the home side bagged two for the points.

Holyhead have lost three on the spin in all competitions with a narrow 1-0 loss to Newtown last weekend. They exited the Welsh Cup at home to Airbus two weeks ago whilst they also lost their last home game in the league to Ruthin. It’s been a difficult start to life in the Cymru North for Hotspur who are without a win in the league since promotion.

Head to Head

This will be the first meeting for more than five years where we met in the old Welsh Alliance (third tier) in the 2019/20 campaign. The last meeting came in January 2020 at Central Park where goals from Mark Roberts and Jacob Barratt ensured a 2-2 draw.

Our last trip to Holyhead in August 2019 saw Town lose 2-1 with Roberts the scorer, but Hotspur found a stoppage-time winner.

Our last meeting in the second tier came in March 2019 where Miles Todd’s goal wasn’t enough in a 2-1 loss on Angelsey.

Stat Pack

Max Cooke could make his 50th appearance for the club this weekend.
