Llay Miners Welfare v Denbigh Town
Date: 30/11/2024
Kick-Off: 14:00
Location: The Ring, Llay
Competition: JD Cymru North

Form

Town were last in action two weeks ago in the JD Welsh Cup away at Llanrwst. Nathan Brown opened the scoring in the first half before Owen Davies doubled it in the second. In stoppage time Keelan Williams tucked home a penalty to seal a convincing win. This will be the first league match in three weeks after a home defeat to league leaders Airbus.

Llay were last in action three weeks ago when facing Colwyn Bay at the Ring where they fell to a 2-1 defeat. The Welfare are on a run of six defeats on the spin and are without a victory since September. Their last win came in the Welsh Cup against Corwen with a slim 1-0 victory and last in the league was just a week beforehand over Caersws.

Head-to-Head

The two sides have already met this season with the clash coming in the Nathaniel MG Cup First Round back in July. Owen Davies gave Denbigh the lead before Llay struck three goals without reply to make it through to the Second Round.

Our last league game was in April 2023 where Llay ran out 4-2 winners. Denbigh’s last win over the Welly came a month beforehand with a 4-0 success at Central Park.

Stat Pack

Denbigh are looking for their first win at the Ring in over 45 years.

Town are looking to avoid three league defeats on the spin, having done so just once in the last five years.

Sion Jones could make his 120th league appearance for the club.
