Denbigh Town’s re-arranged Denbighshire Derby is scheduled for this Tuesday with Town looking to get back to winning ways in the JD Cymru North.
A pitch inspection will take place at 3pm beforehand but the clash on Tuesday will be a big one if the pitch passes.
Prestatyn Town v Denbigh Town
Date: 26/11/2024
Kick-Off: 19:45
Location: Bastion Gardens
Competition: JD Cymru North
Form
Denbigh were last in action 10 days ago in the JD Welsh Cup. Town travelled to Llanrwst where a trio of goals from Nathan Brown, Owen Davies and Keelan Williams secured our place in the last-16 for the first time in over half a century. Our last game in the league saw Town downed 4-0 at home to league leaders Airbus. Our last away trip in the league came at Guilsfield where a stoppage time winner denied us anything at Clos Mytton.
Prestatyn currently sit bottom of the table with eight defeats on the trot in all competitions. Last time out they fell to a 2-0 home defest against Buckley. A week earlier they shipped eight to no reply at Caersws and seven against Colwyn Bay. The Seasiders are without a goal in their last four games and will be looking to put and end to their losing run that stretches back to the start of September.
Head-to-Head
The last meeting between the two sides came in February where a back and forth encounter saw Denbigh come out on top. Ben Lockley and Matthew Worrall put Denbigh two goals ahead on 13 minutes before Prestatyn levelled within five minutes. Worrall made it 3-2 on 24 minutes before Luke Wiltshire equalised five minutes into the second half. The winning goal came just six minutes later via Owen Davies to see it end 4-3. Our last trip to Bastion Gardens where Worrall hit a brace between Ryan Kershaw’s strike in a 3-0 success.
Stat Pack
Town are looking to avoid three league defeats on the spin, having done so just once in the last five years.
Sion Jones could make his 120th league appearance for the club.
Denbigh Town are looking for three straight victories over Prestatyn for the first time since 2003.
