- Third straight trip to Powys

Denbigh Town will make their third trip on the spin to mid-Wales this weekend as Dewi Llion’s side journey to Llanidloes.

Looking to get back to winning ways, they meet with a Daffs side who barring any disciplinary action have sealed their fate with relegation this season.

Llanidloes Town v Denbigh Town
Date: 06/04/2024
Kick-Off: 14:30
Location: Victoria Park
Competition: JD Cymru North

Form

Denbigh took on Caersws on Saturday with a late kick-off against Caersws. Taking place at Latham Park for the second successive away trip, earning a point in a 1-1 draw. A first half opener from the Bluebirds was cancelled out by Owen Davies’ header five minutes before time. It ended a run of three defeats on the bounce against Guilsfield, Gresford Athletic and Holywell Town.

Llanidloes have had a torrid time in the JD Cymru North and sit bottom of the division. Barring a miracle in the final five matches and off-field decisions, they’re as of this moment relegated. They faced another relegated side on Chirk at Victoria Park on Saturday falling to their ninth consecutive in the league. They’ve won just twice all season, including one home win that came back in September.

Head-to-Head

We last met earlier this season at Central Park in a 6-2 thumping from Denbigh. Goals from Paul Fleming, Nathan Brown (brace), Tom Weir and Josh Lock secured the points in October.

Town and Llanidloes have met on nine occasions in the league all coming in the second tier dating back to 1996. However, Denbigh did meet a Llanidloes side in the Welsh Cup way back in January 1926, winning 1-0 in Denbigh.

Our last meeting away from home came in December 2014 when nine-man Llanidloes sent Denbigh home packing in a 5-2 mauling, with Warren Duckett and Simon Smith on the scoresheet for Town.

The last time Denbigh played at Victoria Park was in March 2023, in the Semi-Final of the FAW Trophy, beating Bridgend Street 8-1.

Stat Pack

Paul Fleming could make his 80th league appearance for the club this weekend.

Aaron Jones could make his 60th league appearance for the club this weekend.

Denbigh are looking to beat Llanidloes away from home for the first time since April 1998.
