Denbigh Town Football Club are pleased to announce the loan signing of Bradley Barnes from Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The 19-year-old forward lands at LL16 temporarily from the JD Cymru Premier side who he made his senior debut for last term.

Barnes came through the ranks at Stoke City before joining the Flintshire outfit, and now continues his development at Central Park.

“I’m really happy to join Denbigh and am looking forward to the challenges ahead” said Barnes.

“The facilities here, along with a strong squad and solid foundation meant it was an easy decision to make and I can’t wait to get going.

“The lads have been really welcoming and now I’m looking forward to getting out there and showing our supporters what I and the team can do”.

Manager Dewi Llion added “We’re really pleased to land Brad and would like to thank Nomads for trusting us with his development.

“He’s come through a fantastic system at both Stoke and Nomads and we’re confident he can make a difference for us in the Cymru North this season.

“He’s young, versatile, and we’ve already seen the quality he possesses when coming up against him in pre-season”.

Born in Macclesfield, Barnes came through the academy system at Stoke City before his departure in 2022. He went on to join Connah’s Quay Nomads at Under-16s level and quickly rose through the ranks in Flintshire.

At 18 he appeared in the squad for Nomads’ first team for the first time when named as a substitute away at Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Welsh top flight. A month later he made his debut as a second-half substitute at home to Caernarfon Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup, making an instant impact by bagging an assist for the winner in a 3-2 success. He’d feature once more in the competition in a defeat to Aberystwyth Town.

A regular for the club’s academy, he featured 25 times in the FAW National Acadmi system, scoring ten and assisting the same number in 25 appearances last term. He scored a total of 19 goals at Academy and Reserve level last term.

He now joins Denbigh for his first taste of regular senior football.

Welcome to Denbigh, Brad!
