- Flanders becomes first summer signing

Denbigh Town Football Club are thrilled to announce the signing of defender Daniel Flanders from Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The 18-year-old joined the club initially on a temporary basis in January but now makes the permanent switch to Central Park.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have Dan join the club for next season, having been a massive success in his initial spell” said manager Dewi Llion.

“He’s the exact profile player we’re looking at with an abundance of talent in the Cymru North and potential to grow into one of the best defenders in North Wales.

“His attitude and application with us last season was superb and I’m really looking forward to having him back with us”.

Meanwhile, Flanders commented, “[I’m] proud to officially sign for Denbigh after a successful loan spell last season.

“Grateful for the opportunity and the way I’ve been welcomed by the club and the lads, I’m ready to get going and give 100%”

Flanders initially arrived at LL16 at the beginning of the January transfer window, making his debut in the JD Cymru North against Holywell in the first game of 2025. During his initial spell with the club he started every game in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

He came through the academy at Connah’s Quay Nomads as well as with Hawarden Rangers.

At 16 he made his senior debut for Hawarden in the Lock Stock Ardal North-West in a match at home to Denbigh Town. He went on to play 16 league games for the side before adding a further 26 the following year in the third tier and scoring his first senior goal in a 2-1 win at Llangefni in April 2024.

After making 44 total appearances for Hawarden Rangers he returned to Connah’s Quay Nomads with plenty of experience under his belt. He featured in his first JD Cymru Premier squad in September 2024 at home to Barry Town United before making his debut for the club two weeks later in the Nathaniel MG Cup against Caernarfon Town, playing 90 minutes.

His Cymru Premier debut came as a substitute four days later as a late substitute away at Cardiff Met. He continued to feature regularly for the Nomads’ development side whilst also being involved in Cymru Premier squads. He featured from the start at home to Newtown in the top flight before his final appearance came when he played 78 minutes against Aberystwyth in the Nathaniel MG Cup.

In January he joined Denbigh and totalled 14 appearances in all competitions and now links up with the squad again to begin pre-season.

Welcome back, Dan!
