Denbigh Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Calum Butler from Ruthin Town.

Butler, 18, heads to Central Park following a six month stay at Ruthin Town and his academy development at Chester FC.

The youngster made nine appearances in the JD Cymru North last season and ten in all competitions at the Memorial Playing Fields, and will now take his talents to Denbigh.

“It’s great to be able to bring a player like Calum to the club” said manager Dewi Llion.

“He’s another player who fits the mould of what we want here, a young player with plenty of upside along with previous experience.

“He’s developed really well with Chester before getting senior experience in the league at the beginning of the year, and I look forward to him continuing that with us”.

“I’m really pleased to sign for the club and can’t wait to get going next season” said Butler.

“I’ve worked with Phil Hudson already who’s recently come in and I know a couple of the lads so it should be a smooth transition into the side

“The club has a lot going on both on and off the pitch and so it was an easy decision to come to Denbigh and be a part of it”.

Butler came through the ranks at Chester where he made 44 appearances in the North West Youth Alliance, scoring 10 goals. In January he signed for Ruthin Town and made his Cymru North debut against Chirk at the beginning of February.

He now joins former team mate at Chester Max Cooke as well as former manager Phil Hudson at LL16.

Welcome, Cal!
