Denbigh Town Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of defender Nathan Doforo from The New Saints.
The 19-year-old professional joins the club having spent the past four years with the JD Cymru Premier Champions.
“I’m really pleased to join Denbigh and continue to progress” said Doforo.
“I’ve picked up some really good experience in the last couple of years, and now is the time for me to go out, play regularly, and play in a really competitive Cymru North.
“The squad here is of a really high standard and the facilities are some of the best you’ll see in Wales so this was the perfect place to come and play football”.
Manager Dewi Llion added, “Nathan’s a really good quality pro who has picked up a really high footballing education.
“He’s another player who when he became available, we moved quickly to secure him and believe he can add a lot to the squad”.
Doforo began playing locally before being picked up by Premier League side Manchester City where he spent four years in the club’s academy. He went on to have spells with both Tranmere Rovers and Rochdale before signing as a scholar with The New Saints.
After two seasons, he signed his first professional contract at 18 with the club, having been part of an unbeaten title winning side in the Cymru Premier Development League. In July 2024 having spent time with the First Team in Northern Ireland he featured in the squad against FK Dedic of Montenegro in the UEFA Europa League.
Doforo made his professional debut in August 2024, playing 90 minutes against Flint Town United in the Nathaniel MG Cup, before featuring in the Cymru Premier two weeks later against the same opposition. In his first season, he featured 11 times for TNS and picked up a winners' medal in the Nathaniel MG Cup.
Doforo made a substitute appearance in the Nathaniel MG Cup against Airbus earlier this month, and now joins Town.
Welcome to Denbigh, Nathan!
