Denbigh Town are pleased to announce the signing of Sean James.
The 27-year old midfielder re-joins Denbigh for a fourth spell having spent the first few months of the campaign with Ruthin Town.
“It’s great to be back with Denbigh” said James.
“I’m looking forward to getting going after a lengthy spell out through injury, hopefully we can finish the season strong”.
Manager Dewi Llion added “It’s great to have Sean with us again at Denbigh, he’s a local lad who knows what it means to pull on the shirt and will be a vital cog for us moving forward.
“He’s a talented player who brings experience to a young group and having been out of the game through injury over the last year or so will be really keen to kick on with us”.
Son of former Denbigh stalwart Mike James, who sits 6th on the club’s all-time recorded goal scorers with 70 for the club, Sean began with development football at Rhyl before making his first move to Denbigh in 2014 to continue his footballing journey with the Reserves. He departed the club for Llandyrnog United in 2017 after making a brief appearance in the second tier against Caernarfon Town.
In 2018 he returned to Central Park spending two years as an integral part of the Reserves whilst also featuring for the first team, before again departing a year later. He spent the early portion of the 2020’s with Llandyrnog United, returning to regular action with the Cae Nant side before a third spell with Denbigh in February 2022, this time signing for the first team.
He made his return debut in the Lock Stock Ardal North West as a substitute away at Blaenau Ffestiniog before scoring his first goal for Denbigh in a nine-goal thriller with St Asaph City in April 2022.
James has made 18 appearances for the first team at Central Park thus far before he made the switch back to Llandyrnog in September 2022 where he remained until the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.
After a year away due to a shoulder injury, James signed for Ruthin Town before joining Denbigh.
Welcome back, Sean!
