- Forward commits to Denbigh Town

Denbigh Town Football Club are delighted to announce that forward Alfie Vaughan has extended his stay at the club.

Vaughan, 19, joined the club in August 2024 from Prestatyn Town where he featured 31 times for the club, scoring nine goals.

He now commits his future to Denbigh, where he will remain for the 2025/26 campaign as the club looks to build on two successful seasons back in the Cymru North.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time with the club so to re-sign for next season was an easy decision” said Vaughan.

“I felt like I grew into the side after joining late in the summer and was pleased particularly with the second half of the season when starting every week and getting into a good rhythm.

“Hopefully, I can build on this personally and as a team we can challenge at the top end of the table in an exciting Cymru North next season”

“Alfie has been a really key player for us, particularly in the second half of the season so to have him commit to the club is great news” said manager Dewi Llion.

“He’s played in various positions and been superb when called upon and hit some outstanding form to see out the season, he’s still young and has plenty of development and I’m really happy it’ll be with us”.

Vaughan came through the ranks at Connah’s Quay Nomads’ Academy before joining St Asaph City in the summer of 2023.

He excelled with the Saints scoring five goals in 17 appearances at Roe Plas Meadow before signing for Prestatyn in January 2024.

He made his debut in the JD Cymru North at home to Porthmadog, scoring twice and providing an assist in a 3-2 win at Bastion Gardens. He made 11 appearances in before making a further three in 2024/25 before switching to Central Park.

With Denbigh he made his debut as a substitute in a 5-1 win over Gresford in August 2024 and scored the first of nine goals for Town when grabbing a brace against Guilsfield in January 2025.

Vaughan made 31 appearances for the club and his late season form earned him the March Player of the Month award, whilst scoring seven goals in the final seven games of the campaign.

See you next season, Alf!
