Denbigh Town Football Club can confirm the departure of defender Billy Holmes.

The 31-year-old was the longest-serving member of the squad and a true Denbigh great throughout his tenure.

Holmes was promoted to the senior squad for the first time in 2013 before departing for a brief spell and returning to the club in 2015.

He went on to make 157 appearances in all competitions scoring twice for the club whilst also picking up double-honours in the 2022/23 campaign.

One of the club's best ambassadors during his time at Central Park, Holmes was a popular figure at LL16 with standout performances from full-back and centre-back and carried himself off the field with distinction.

He will now leave to pursue further playing opportunities with limited time so far this campaign. Holmes made 13 appearances in all competitions this term.

Denbigh Town would like to thank Billy for his excellent service during his decade or so with the club and will welcome him back to Central Park with open arms.
