
Denbigh Town secured promotion and the Lock Stock Ardal North-West league title on Saturday in what has been a historic campaign for Town.
Here we break down the numbers of a scintillating year at Central Park whilst comparing the 140 years of competitive league action dating back to 1882.
0 - Number of points dropped against the top three in the division this year.
1 - Amount of draws in the league during the entire 2022/23 campaign. It ranks the second fewest with the lowest being zero (1906/07) and is joint-second with one draw in four other seasons (1883/84, 1907/08, 1923/24, 1952/53).
2 - Number of players that played in every league game of the campaign. Nathan Brown and Dan Parry-Jones.
2nd - Denbigh Town become just the second team to win the Ardal North-West since it’s inception in 2021. They follow on from Mold Alexandra who won the division a year previous.
3 - Denbigh lost just three matches all season, coming against Llanrwst, Flint Mountain and Llay. Town lost just one game at Central Park in the Ardal North-West.
4 - Number of times Denbigh have now won a Welsh third tier title - following on from the old Welsh Alliance in 1995/96, 2006/07 and 2013/14.
6 - Manager Dewi Llion Jones becomes just the sixth person in Denbigh Town’s 143 year history to deliver a league title to the senior men’s team. He follows John Roberts, Bill Dawson, Roy Cook-Hannah, Tim Dyer and Richard Williams-Cook.
7 - Number of times Denbigh Town have won promotion to a higher division having gone up from the Ardal North-West, Welsh Alliance, Clwyd Premier, Clwyd Football League Division One and Welsh National League Division Two, the latter being the first promotion earned by the club in 1957/58.
9 - Years since Denbigh Town last won a league championship, having gone unbeaten during the 2013/14 campaign.
10 - The number of matches in which Denbigh scored four or more goals in the league this season.
11 - Total league titles won by Denbigh Town following the 2022/23 campaign. Including the Welsh Alliance (3), Welsh National League Division One (Wrexham) (4), Welsh National League Division Two, Welsh League Division Two Eastern (3) and now Ardal North-West.

In 94 recorded seasons between 1882 and 2022, Denbigh have tallied an average of 34 points per season, and surpassed that number by just shy of double in 2022/23 (67).
Notes: Records correct as of May 2023 and ranges from September 1883 to May 2023. Data is missing from 1950-52 and 1948/49 (Dyserth League) and 1984-88 (Clwyd League).
Denbigh Town are believed not to have competed competitively between 1894-1905, 1934-1946 and during 2020/21.
The club also competed under different aliases including Denbigh Town (1880-1893, 1905-1919, 1933-present), Caledfryn Rangers (1893-1894), Denbigh United (1921-1929) and Denbigh Juniors (1929-1932).
Not included are records of our first ‘league’ season in 1890, facing Mold, Rhyl and Rhos in a four team league between October 1890 and March 1891 (P 6, W 2, D 0, L 4). That season was predominantly friendlies and cup matches - including our first honour (St Asaph Challenge Cup in April 1891).
Management history and winning managers does not include secretaries, chairman or committees pre-war or in the decade following post-war.
