A half time lead through Ian Evans was cancelled out on 65 minutes by an Edward Davies thunderbolt but with 5 minutes remaining Craig Wilkinson grabbed the three points for the home side.
The opening salvoes were coming mainly from Denbigh, first Ian Evans latched onto a superb ball from Wilkinson but the hit man took a touch before firing wide. Next debutant Ross Hannen slid in a ball to big Tom Sharples. His effort was parried by the Roosters stopper Paul Roberts who grabbed the ball at the second attempt with Wilkinson sniffing the leftovers.
A moment later Denbigh were ahead. Evans won a free kick on the edge of the box which saw Harrison step up to try his luck with a blaster. The first effort was blocked off but the quick witted full back sought out the head of Wilkinson from the rebound and the Town captain nodded into the path of Ian Evans who slammed home from 6 yards.
Town gloves man Ash Crosthwaite had to be alert to pluck the ball off the head off Danny Mercer as United sought an immediate response and to be fair it was the visitors who now began to look most likely.
The second stanza was now being played within the Town half, with the Roosters keeping good possession and releasing shots that were in the main wide of target. But just after the hour the visitors grabbed a leveller. Edward Davies put his boot through the ball on the half volley from 20 yards and his sweet effort bulged the net. A quality strike.
The Rwst mob now scented blood and Crosthwaite had to dive at the feet of Davies to prevent another score. From the corner the big stopper was at full length to tip a curler round the post.
Denbigh recovered their composure and broke well on two occasions to help relieve the intense pressure which was now being placed upon their defence. First Tommy Harrison curled an effort inches wide. Next Tom Sharples elected to balloon over rather than square to a lurking Ian Evans. The same man next spanked an effort into Roberts' breadbasket after the move of the game involving Evans and Wilkinson.
At the other end shots from distance continued from the Gwydir brigade but on 85 minutes Town broke to devastating effect. Determined work from Ian Evans released Dewi Jones on the right wing. His perfect ball was jabbed home at the near post by Wilkinson's dinky touch. Tough on Llanrwst but a welcome win for the James Gang after two heavy defeats on the bounce.
