Biography

Forward Gwion Dafydd joined Denbigh Town in the summer of 2025.

Dafydd spent time as a youngster with Nantlle Vale and Bangor City before trialling with the likes of Manchester City.

He signed for Caernarfon Town as a 14-year-old and was quickly promoted, making his debut at 16 in the Nathaniel MG Cup against Ruthin Town in 2021, and made his JD Cymru Premier debut a week later at home to Haverfordwest. He went on to grab his first goal in the top flight off the bench away to TNS.

He continued to pick up attention and spent time with Crystal Palace before continuing at the Oval, totalling 17 appearances and scoring three goals for the Cofis in his first campaign. In addition to his senior duties, he continued to represent the Under-19s, scoring 38 goals in just 19 appearances.

In the summer of 2022 Dafydd made the switch to The New Saints, making his debut against Chirk AAA in the Welsh Cup in October. Dafydd made his league debut shortly after against his former side, scoring for the Saints in a two-minute cameo before grabbing another the following week against Cardiff Met.

Ahead of the split, he bagged six goals in seven games before a further two goals in the latter part of the season to make it eight goals in 14 top-flight games. He travelled with the squad in the summer of 2023 to face BK Hacken of Sweden in the UEFA Champions League and FC Swift Hesperange of Luxembourg in the Europa League.

After spending the opening stages of the 2023/24 campaign at Park Hall, he returned to Caernarfon on loan in January 2024 for the remainder of the season, whilst in March 2024, he was called up to represent Cymru C against England in Llanelli.

Dafydd joined Colwyn Bay on loan in the JD Cymru North in 2024 as he helped fire the Seasiders to promotion with 16 goals in 25 games in all competitions.
