Denbigh Town Reserves picked up a point away at Cae Nant but will be disappointed not to come away with a win.
On a rough and bobbly surface, Llandyrnog’s young and lively reserve side adapted better to the conditions and went in front after half an hour when the ball bobbled away from Town defender Miles Todd and left ex-Denbigh striker Luke Appleby through on goal to lob Dafydd Pierce-Evans.
Denbigh kept trying to play their passing game opting for short corners and free-kicks despite the fact that it was nearly impossible to string two passes together on the poor surface.
The reds equalised in the 73rd minute when a cross-field pass from Rhys Llwyd found Aidan Bell free in the box, and the substitue struck the ball low into the bottom corner.
Llandyrnog nearly nicked all three points in the dying seconds but Dafydd Pierce-Evans produced an outstanding save to keep the score level.
