Ollie Beech

- Town boss steps down

Denbigh Town Football Club is sad to announce the resignation of First Team Manager Dewi Llion.

Dewi, who has led the side for the last eight years as the longest-serving manager in the Novira Cymru North, moves on, having managed more games than anyone in the club's history.

Due to ongoing work commitments, he felt unable to give the club the dedication and time needed to operate at full capacity at Cymru North level.

Dewi took over in the summer of 2018 as joint-manager with Matthew Jones. He took full control a year later and, following relegation to the Lock Stock Ardal North-West, he helped rebuild the club on and off the pitch.

In 2022/23 came his finest moments, earning promotion back to the second tier along with the Ardal Northern League Cup in a triumphant double-winning campaign. He also guided the side to the final of the FAW Amateur Trophy.

In subsequent years he’s led Denbigh to three solid finishes in the Cymru North and established the club in the division, as well as reaching the Quarter-Final of the Welsh Cup for the first time in club history.

Everybody at the club would like to place on record it’s sincere thanks to Dewi, and wish him nothing but the best as he steps away from the game.

Diolch, Dew.
