Denbigh Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Max Cooke has committed his future to the club.

Cooke, 19, pens a deal that will keep the Vale of Clwyd native at the club for the 2026/27 campaign.

Signing for the club in January 2024, the versatile defensive midfielder has shown significant progression since joining the club from Chester FC.

“I’m really pleased to be staying at the club and continue at Central Park” said Cooke.

“Since joining I’ve grown as a player and really enjoyed my football.

“This is a really special club and being able to carry on representing it is something I was really happy to do”.

“Max came to us as a player who had limited experience in senior football and over the past two and a half years has grown significantly” said manager Dewi Llion.

“Last season he proved how versatile he is playing as a centre half and in midfield, and was superb with both. His progress last year saw him take a real jump.

“He’s still young, but we’re confident he can take a step up for us and I’m really pleased to have him back next year”.

Cooke spent nearly a decade with Chester before signing for Town in January 2024. He made his debut as a late substitute away to Buckley before making progress and earning a starting role the next term.

Last year he made 32 appearances for the club and netted his first senior goal on Boxing Day against Ruthin Town.

Cooke has made 65 appearances for the club so far.
