Denbigh Town are delighted to announce the signing of defender Elliott Orton from Gresford Athletic.

The 22-year old arrives at the club with more than a century of senior appearances across the top two tiers of Welsh football, and becomes our fourth signing of the summer.

“I’m really pleased to sign for Denbigh and can’t wait to begin the new season with the group” said Orton.

“I’ve trained with the lads and can see the quality in the squad already, and walkling around the ground the pitch, the facilities and ambition of the place is something that really drew me in to want to come here.

“I’m looking forward to getting the shirt on and representing Denbigh and playing in front of the fantastic support we have here”.

Manager Dewi Llion commented “Elliott’s an experienced player at this level despite his age, has played in the Cymru Premier and Cymru North with Airbus and Gresford, and will fit in really well with us.

“He’s strong, physical and technically really good and hold the characteristics we look for in a player, we’re pleased to have him with us for the season ahead.

Orton began his career with Airbus UK Broughton, progressing through the academy before making his senior debut in the Nathaniel MG Cup against Guilsfield in July 2021.

He established himself in the first team at just 17 in the JD Cymru North, featuring regularly for the Wingmakers and earned promotion to the top flight in his first senior season, featuring 24 times in all competitions.

Orton went on to play ten times in the JD Cymru Premier in 2022/23 before the club returned to the Cymru North. He made a total of 51 appearances for Airbus in his three-year spell.

He made the switch to Gresford Athletic in the summer of 2024, establishing himself quickly in the side over the course of two years for the Colliers and went on to feature 56 times for the Wrexham-based club.

He now switches to Central Park ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
