Denbigh Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Mike Pearson.

The 37-year-old former professional becomes our second signing of the window and was most recently with Trearddur Bay.

Pearson began his career with Oldham Athletic, where he made his debut against Millwall in Sky Bet League One back in 2007. He’s featured more than 150 times in the National League and has spent a decade in Welsh football, predominantly in the Cymru Premier.

“I’m really pleased to sign for the club” said Pearson.

“I’ve spoken to Dewi who didn’t have to sell it to me much, the facilities are top class and the direction of the club is fantastic.

“I work at Myddleton College so I’ve seen the progress that’s been made, and I’ve played here a few times so it’s not unfamiliar. Now I want to add my experience to a young squad to help fire us up the table”.

Manager Dewi Llion added, “Mike’s been there and done it, be it in Wales or professionally over in England.

“He’s won the Cymru North with Holywell, played countless games in the Cymru Premier and Europe, and knows what it’s like to play under pressure and expectation.

“His experience will be so important to the group, and adding him is a real positive for us at a crucial part of the season”.

Pearson made two appearances for Oldham before joining Farsley Celtic on loan in the National League as a youngster. During his development he was called up to represent Wales at Under-14, 15 and 17 level.

He went on to join Barrow in 2008 where he racked up over 150 appearances in the top flight of non-league football, as well as lifting the FA Trophy at Wembley in his second campaign. His first season was cut short, however, due to a double-leg break in an FA Cup tie with then Premier League side Middlesbrough.

In 2013, he made his first foray into his home country, signing for Airbus UK Broughton, where he represented the Wingmakers in Europe, scoring against Norwegian side Haugesund in 2015 during his second Europa League stint. He was also selected to represent Wales C from 2010 onwards.

Pearson went on to sign for Connah’s Quay Nomads in 2016, featuring in Europe once more before two spells with Llandudno, either side of time spent with Caernarfon Town. Due to a long-term injury in his second stint at Llandudno, he took up the role of Assistant Manager to former Town man Sean Eardley.

A brief time with Cefn Albion in 2023 was followed by two years with Holywell Town, where he lifted the JD Cymru North league title in 2024. He signed for Trearddur Bay at the beginning of this season, where he featured twice at the beginning of the year.

He now signs for Town for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.

Welcome, Mike!
